The quest

In late-2019, I embarked on a quest to play the Top 100 Courses in the World by my 50th birthday. 2020 was perhaps not the best year to start this! Nevertheless, as I am lucky enough to be based in the UK, I still managed to play 5 courses and to get the quest underway. I managed a further 11 during the course of 2021, including courses in England, Scotland and Ireland.

The blog posts on this site record my journey. Each article contains my thoughts on the clubs I have visited, the courses and my experiences of them. All of the photographs are my own. I have subsequently added some videos of trips to Scotland and Ireland.

You can also track my progress either on Instagram or through the lists on this site of the World Top 100, the Top 100 in England and Top 100 in UK & Ireland. As you might have guessed, I am quite a fan of lists!

About me

I am a lawyer and golfing enthusiast. Based in London, my home club is the wonderful Alister MacKenzie designed Hadley Wood GC. Currently playing with a handicap of 12, I have ambitions to get that to single figures – but my primary aim is enjoyment.

At this stage, I have no idea where the journey will take me, but I am excited to find out.
